Front-end Web Developer
I am passionate about problem solving and using my creativity to build things on the web. Web Development allows me to add technical skills to the arsenal of soft skills I've accumulated from my time in finance. I enjoy a challenge, I love learning and exploring new/better ways to do things.
I have experience as a Junior Business Analyst and Manual Software Tester on an Agile team. I am an ISTQB Certified Software Test (Foundation level), and I also hold a MS SQL Server certificate. I understand the SDLC and moonlighted as a psuedo scrum master within my team, overseeing daily standup, weekly and monthly retrospectives to improve internal team processes.
Web Developer - Johannesburg
I'm a self-taught web developer from Johannesburg, South Africa. I'm a finance graduate who with experience in banking, insurance and investment management. It was through user acceptance testing of internal CRM systems that I got interested in tech and IT, and came to realisation that I had more in common with the people who built computer systems than those who just use them.
My hobbies include football (the soccer kind), reading and listening to music, I am a big rock and hip hop fan. I jump at the chance to do some DIY around the house with my Dad, especially if power tools or the blow torch are involved. I am also big on gaming, I will play anything I can get my hands on: from chess (my whole family can play) and all other board games (scrabble, monopoly, thirty seconds) to computer games and consoles (PlayStation and Xbox).
In addition to growing my coding knowledge, I'm also learning to play the guitar. I'm looking forward to picking up unicycling again, and to start skateboarding at some point. I'm not big on exercise so I prefer physical activities to keep in shape.
